Indemnifies the Insured against legal liability under common law for damages, costs and expenses of litigation and in addition pays all costs and expenses incurred by the Insured with the Company’s written consent.

The legal liabilities must have arisen from accidental injury, diseases or breach of common law to the employee and attributable to the employer's negligence.

  • Inpatient services -this is the primary benefit for medical insurance and can be purchased on its own. Caters for medical expenses incurred during hospital admission.
  • Outpatient services - Caters for medical expenses incurred when a patient is treated and allowed back home. Includes; Consultation, investigative procedures and medication.
  • Dental services – Covers dentist consultation, dental x-rays, extraction, filling, root canal medically necessary cleaning.
  • Optical services – Cover for consultation, frames and lenses.
  • Maternity services – caters for pre-natal, post-natal, delivery (normal or caesarean) and maternity related complications. Corporate clients can request to have this benefit within inpatient and outpatient.
Do you have health insurance policies for children?
We have a standalone cover for children between the ages of 0–17 years, which offers five flexible plans and great benefits.
Do you have health insurance for senior citizens?
Yes, we offer coverage for members aged 61 –80 with the option of extending it to 85. The policy has flexible plans to choose from.
Which illnesses are covered under this cover?
Hedgwell Medical Insurance is comprehensive and cover a wide variety of illnesses. However, coverage for certain chronic conditions must be clearly stated in your policy document. Additionally, some conditions have a one-year waiting period. These include diabetes, heart conditions, hypertension, cancer, HIV etc. Please check your policy document for illnesses covered and their waiting periods.
